SOMERVILLE, NJ – Today, veteran New Jersey State Senator Joseph Cryan (LD-20) endorsed Rebecca Bennett for Congress. Senator Cryan, who serves as the Chair of the Higher Education Committee in the State Senate, previously served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 2002 – 2014, and as Majority Leader from 2010 – 2012. Senator Cryan was Chair of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee from 2006 – 2010. This endorsement marks the first time a sitting state legislator has endorsed any candidate in NJ-07 ahead of the 2026 Democratic Primary Election.
