Somerset County Democratic Committee Endorses Rebecca Bennett for Congress
Decisive victory for Bennett in NJ-07’s second largest county
SOMERVILLE, NJ – Today, Navy helicopter pilot, healthcare leader, and mom of two, Rebecca Bennett, was endorsed by the Somerset County Democratic Committee in her race for Congress in New Jersey’s 7th Congressional District.
Somerset County Democrats voted with over 54% of the vote to endorse Bennett, a decisive victory.
The endorsement is the latest in a string of grassroots victories for the Bennett campaign, coming after her win at the Hunterdon County Democratic Committee’s Convention, and building on the recent endorsement of grassroots group Door to Door Democracy, along with the College Democrats of New Jersey. Bennett has earned a growing number of national and local endorsements in the race.
“I am honored to have earned the support of Chairwoman Peg Schaffer and the Somerset County Democratic Committee,” said Rebecca Bennett. “Somerset County is my home. It’s where I’m raising my two girls, and where my family is facing the same challenges as families across this district. I’m grateful to have the Somerset County Democrats with us as we continue to build on this momentum and flip this seat in November.”
Rebecca Bennett is a former U.S. Navy helicopter pilot, officer in the Air National Guard, business leader in healthcare, and mom of two. Rebecca served in the Navy for over a decade as a helicopter pilot and aircraft commander. After serving her country for over fifteen years in the military and making waves in healthcare innovation, Rebecca is running for Congress to build a better future for our community. As a mom to two young girls, Rebecca understands first-hand the challenges of balancing work & family while navigating inflation and the rising cost of living.
